Richmond Nightmarket Food

The Richmond Summer Nightmarket has opened recently. Having been at the center of debates lately regarding whether it will be here this year, the Richmond Nightmarket is back but with some major offsets.

The tents and vendors are there but the “market” has not measured up to last year yet because half the strip is still vacant.

It was interesting to see that the parking remains at $5 when the market is 1/3 capacity. For the time being, I recommend finding free parking until the market is up and running like last year.

Especially disappointing is that the food stands are not there yet. However, according to CBC News, the food stands should be back some where from mid June to late June.

Corner 23!

Sorry for the lack of posting recently. We had some good weather in the past few weeks and I been going out a lot. Although it is summer in Vancouver but actually it doesn’t feel like it at all here. The rainy weather isn’t helping either.

Recently I spotted a new Taiwanese Bubble Tea place called “Corner 23” on Cambie and 23rd street. Looking in from outside, you might think this is a small place, but when you walk inside, you will be amazed with the interior design and the trendy atmosphere. There are also free parking spaces behind the store about 10 stalls to be exact.

After getting inside and looking through their menus, I was very impressed. They offer a lot of the traditional Taiwanese food and bubble tea drinks. I would say this place is very similar to “Pearl Castle” in Richmond. I used to go to “Pearl Castle” in Richmond a lot because of the food and special drinks they have but this new place, “Corner 23” will be my new favour bubble spot.

One reason that really made the difference is the great customer service offered at “Corner 23”. The servers are very friendly and polite. The food came out very fast and well presented. I have taken some picture of the dishes I have ordered (see pictures below). I highly recommend this place to everyone especially during the summer time!
