Entertainment Book

I had just received my entertainment book after ordering it online a few days ago. For those who don’t know, the entertainment book is jam packed with coupons on local entertainment, dining, services, and other goods.

At the moment, the book is around $15 CDN (shipping included). Originally, the book is valued at $40 dollars. Regardless of the price, I believe that you would easily recover your cost after spending two to three coupons. Many of the coupons are 2 for 1 deals like buy one get one free.

All of the book’s coupons are valid until November 2008. And since the summer just started there will be plenty of time to go through the book and save.

For more information on what is included or order online, check out their website here.

If you are looking for ideas for dates this one book will give you plenty of ideas while saving your wallet.

Pictures of Vancouver

I find myself very busy lately with studying of midterm and trying to balance my social life at the same time. Some people say men are bad at mult-tasking and I am actually starting to believe that it is true.

Over the past few days, I been working on a picture slideshow of all the best photos that I took in the past year. I would love to share this with everyone. This video also includes some of the recent picture I took around downtown Vancouver. Please visit my flickr page for additional photos @ www.flickr.com/yangsphotography/

Buntzen Lake Reservoir

I’ve always wanted to see Buntzen Lake. However, I didn’t have the opportunity to go until recently on one of my days off.

Located in the village of Anmore, Buntzen Lake is a BC hydro reservoir. Formerly known as Lake Beautiful, Buntzen Lake flows to two hydroelectric plants located on Indian Arm to generate electricity for Greater Vancouver.

Today, Buntzen Lake is not only resourceful for electricity but also a recreation area. For instance, picnic tables, grass play areas, hiking trials, boat and canoe areas and docks, and viewpoints are some of the interesting things that you would find while visiting Buntzen Lake. In addition, there is also a dog off-leash area and trail for dog owners.

There are a number of mountain trials that offers a variety of challenge and difficulty. Ranging from experienced and fit hikers only to moderate and easy, these mountain trials offers spectacular walks of nature.

To get to Buntzen Lake, head north on Heritage Mountain Boulevard in Coquitlam. Heritage Mountain Boulevard then becomes David Road. Turn left at Forest Park Way. Turn left onto Aspenwood Drive which connects to East Road. Follow East Road to its end. Turn right at Sunnyside Road and continue onto the entrance gate.

There is also bus service available to the entrance gate. Bus service directly to the south beach area is limited to the time of the season. For more information consult with trans-link 604-953-3333.

Parking lots are on a first-come basis and when the lots are full the entrance entrance gates will be closed for the day. I have only been there just recently and it wasn’t a “high” season so there were quite a large area of parking available. I couldn’t imagine it to be full until I have seen it myself.

Here are some interesting things:

Water flowing out of a tree

Rules to Buntzen Lake, maps of the area, and more information are available on their website here.
