Bringing Greater Vancouver together

Vancouver Housing

I took some pictures throughout the week on neighborhoods near where I live and decided to have a post on our housing market in Vancouver.

According to a post on Canada Broadcast Company, Vancouver has the most expensive housing compared with the rest of Canada.

A post written last year indicated that the typical house in Vancouver costs approximately $715,700 CAD. The houses in the two pictures above are easily over $1,000,000 dollars in today’s housing market.

According to CTV, Vancouver houses have jumped a whomping 99% in appreciation in the last 10 years. One of the biggest factors, they say, is that immigrates played a key role in jump starting the housing market. Being the third largest city in Canada, Vancouver is one of the top choices for many new immigrates.

In addition, CTV noted that, “the benchmark for high-end homes is no longer the $1 million range – $2 million is now considered the benchmark for the more upscale housing market.” A quick google search on housing prices in various cities will provide you with a baseline of what you should expect at certain demographic areas. The high-end upscale housing market will have houses that go up to 14 million dollars in West Vancouver. On the other end of the spectrum, there are housing markets in Delta that will have houses that are around $300,000.

Obviously that prices reflect the size of your property, landscape, and surrounding areas. Be sure to look into what you want into a house and its surroundings before you start looking around in Vancouver. Unforunately, it won’t be cheap to live in.
