Observation deck lookout (Harbor Center)

Posted by cvancouver on February 29, 2008

Many Vancouverites who live in Vancouver often neglect the tourism destinations in their own city. One such example would be the observation deck at Harbor Center. Their website address is http://www.vancouverlookout.com

Here are some pictures that you can find on their website:

When you reach the observation deck, you get a 360 degrees view of Greater Vancouver. To the north, you can see the mountain ranges. To the west, you can see the sea. To the east and south, you can see the Greater Vancouver reaching the ends of the horizon. The deck is also a great place to catch the sunset. Here are some of the pictures that I took on my Motorola Razor cell phone:

Regardless of your status as a tourist or resident, the observation deck is a must see.

Their opening and closing hours vary slightly depending on the season. Also, their prices range from $13 for adult to free for children under 5.

Harbor Center is located at:

Wings - Tap & Grill

Posted by cvancouver on February 28, 2008

In February, my friends and I dined at Wings on Granville for chicken wings. Upon entry, we find ourselves in a bar and lounge like setting. Lights are dimmed, a Hockey game was on the TV screens, and it feels like a great environment to get your friends together and enjoy the game, have a couple of beers, and tons of chicken wings.

On their menu, they have a great selection of chicken wings for your taste. They serve burgers, pasta, salads, and appetizers. Food such as pasta and burgers are generally around $10 depending on what you order. Chicken wings start with $9 a pound and are cheaper if you order 5 pounds at once. Unfortunately, you can’t mix different flavors together for the deal.

What stands out is the chicken wing flavor “Bobby Wings.” In order to eat “Bobby Wings”, the customer has to be given a disclosure form/declaration regarding the extremity (spiciness) of the wings. As you can see from the picture, there is more sauce than there are wings. The results of eating these wings include symptoms of: vomiting, upset stomach, burning sensation, loss of sensation, and headache.

Wings on Granville is located:

Cvancouver Launched!

Posted by cvancouver on February 13, 2008

Downtown Vancouver

After many questions of “what is there to do (in Vancouver)?” I came up with the idea of starting a website to share ideas about things to do, see, eat, read, visit and etc.

After many months of procrastination and planning, I have finally gotten this website started.

The goals of this website are simple:
1.) To let Vancouverites know what they have in their community
2.) To show the world that Metro Vancouver is a world-class city
3.) To answer the stress-inducing question of “What is there to do (in 604)?”
4.) Connecting people, information and places together

Stay tuned. More good stuff to follow.
